Despite a report from ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that largely can be chalked up to speculation, the Eagles are not planning to make a move with defensive coordinator Sean McDermott. It's true that things have not gone swimmingly since McDermott took over for his mentor, Jim Johnson, prior to last season. And in Week Seven, McDermott failed to make adjustments against the Titans' Kenny Britt, who was killing the team repeatedly with the same flag pattern. But we hear that head coach Andy Reid has no plans to make a change, such as promoting secondary coach Dick Jauron, a well-respected defensive mind. A team source told PFW the club reviewed the Titans game and found some very correctable errors. Defensive changes could be afoot, however. Ellis Hobbs, who was victimized by Britt, could be benched in favor of Dimitri Patterson. Rookie S Nate Allen, however, is expected to keep his starting job, we hear.
