Take a quick stroll down memory lane with PFW for a recap of the Vikings' Week Eight contests each of the last five seasons:

2009: Vikings QB Brett Favre outplayed Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, slinging four touchdown passes in Minnesota's 38-26 win over Green Bay. Favre found five different receivers for scores, and RB Adrian Peterson took another one in on the ground. DEs Jared Allen (three sacks) and Ray Edwards (two) led the pass rush.

2008: BYE

2007: QBs Kelly Holcomb and Brooks Bollinger were a combined 14-of-26 passing for 182 yards and a score in the Vikings 23-16 loss to the Eagles. Minnesota WR Bobby Wade had a team-high 54 receiving yards, and TE Visanthe Shiancoe caught five balls for 50 yards and a touchdown. Although Peterson struggled, he had a game-high 70 yards rushing on 20 carries.

2006: The Vikings managed only one touchdown in a 31-7 loss to the Patriots on Monday Night Football. The offense was shut down all game, with the lone score coming on a 71-yard punt return from RB Mewelde Moore. QBs Brad Johnson and Bollinger threw four combined interceptions, while Patriots QB Tom Brady had four touchdown passes.

2005: The Vikings had no answer for WR Steve Smith in a 38-13 loss to the Panthers. Smith caught 11 balls for 201 yards and a score, while the eight Minnesota receivers who caught passes compiled a combined 190 combined yards. The Vikings touchdowns came on a Moore run and a five-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to WR Marcus Robinson.
