Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey broke his right hand on the same day it was announced he would take Derrick Harvey's starting spot on the defensive line, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Mincey has not been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Cowboys and could still play with a cast protecting his right hand.

Mincey has had an injury-plagued career. He broke the same hand last year and broke his left wrist in 2007 and '08.

The way we see it

The injury is a setback for the Jags' defense. If Mincey is unable to go, the underperforming Harvey likely will regain his spot among the starters. Look for DEs Austen Lane and Aaron Morgan to contribute, as well.
