Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris was thoroughly grilled by the media for saying his team is the NFC's best after a Week Seven win over the Rams. Morris has since tried to clarify the remark and we hear he meant it to be more of a motivational tactic for his players than to be taken at face value. While some might have perceived the statement as another sign of Morris' inexperience, a source says the team wasn't at all embarrassed by it. Morris still has to prove himself as a game manager, although he's better in that area than he was last season, but he never has had trouble motivating his players, we're told. To have such a young team in contention for a division title this late in the season has earned Morris a great deal of respect in Tampa and there is cautious optimism about the team's future with him at the helm.
