The Buccaneers announced Friday that they have released OLG Keydrick Vincent and promoted OT Will Barker from the practice squad.

Vincent started Tampa Bay's first five games this season before being replaced at left guard by Ted Larsen.

"For us, Larsen played OK," Bucs GM Mark Dominik told the media. "Certainly he had his hiccups in the game, but he did play well. We are encouraged by where (C Jeff) Faine's progress is going, which will give us some depth again."

Vincent, who had been hampered by a sore back, joined the team in July, following stints with the Panthers, Cardinals, Ravens and Steelers.

Barker entered the league this year as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys but was released during the team's final cuts. He then signed on with the Bucs and had been on the team's practice squad.

The way we see it

The Buccaneers liked what they saw in Larsen and are getting closer to having Faine back from a quadriceps injury, making Vincent expendable. Tampa Bay will be without OT Jeremy Trueblood on Sunday and Barker will help provide depth at the tackle position.
