It's looking very likely that the Lions will have their first local TV blackout of the 2010 season on Sunday, as 10,000 tickets were still available for the Week Eight home game against the Redskins as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions have until 1 p.m. ET Thursday to sell the rest of the tickets, or to be close enough to have the NFL grant it a 24-hour extension to sell out. Detroit needed the extension to ensure that its first two home games of the season — against the Eagles and Rams — were sold out.

In 2009, four of the team's eight home games were blacked out in the local TV market.
