The Broncos didn't win a game without both FS Brian Dawkins and CB Andre Goodman in the lineup, and we hear the lack of experience that Denver was left with limited the defense's ability to make adjustments. The veteran know-how carried by the experienced defensive backs allows the secondary to better communicate before the snap and make changes on the fly, according to a source close to the team. "We're basically calling out some of the things that are actually happening because we all watch film and we all see different things," Dawkins said. "When that is happening, the game has already slowed down, and it slows down that much more for you as a defense. Hopefully we'll get back to that communication, and those young guys will see exactly what I'm talking about right now." Dawkins, Goodman and fellow starters CB Champ Bailey and SS Renaldo Hill, combine for 46 years of experience, which is irreplaceable to a young, struggling team. Having those four veterans healthy also allows Nate Jones to shift from safety to corner, his natural position.
