Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels announced Thursday that RB Knowshon Moreno would be able to play on Sunday against the 49ers and that CB Perrish Cox and DE Kevin Vickerson will not make the trip to London.
Moreno returned to action two weeks ago but was seen grabbing his previously injured hamstring and talking with a Denver trainer during practice on Wednesday. When asked about Moreno, McDaniels responded: "He'll be fine."
Cox suffered a concussion in last week's 59-14 loss to the Raiders and Vickerson left the game with a groin injury.
S Darcel McBath and LBs Robert Ayers and Wesley Woodyard also will remain in Denver for Sunday's game, according to McDaniels.
WR Eddie Royal (groin) will travel with the team but no decision has been made on whether or not he will play.
The way we see it
While the loss of two more players will hurt the defense, the return of S Brian Dawkins and CB André Goodman should help ease the pain.
Goodman will step back into the starting CB role Cox had been temporarily filling. Meanwhile, Dawkins' return will free up CB Nate Jones to return to his natural position and play the nickel CB role for the injured Cox.
Recently re-signed DE Le Kevin Smith likely will step in for the injured Vickerson.
