Redskins RB Clinton Portis is likely two weeks away from seriously testing his injured groin, according to The Washington Post.
Portis suffered the injury in Week Four and initially was expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Sunday will be the fourth consecutive game Portis will miss.
"It's still going to be, for sure, a couple of weeks. It takes some time," head coach Mike Shanahan told The Post.
The injury was a third-degree separation. RB Ryan Torain has started with Portis out.
The way we see it
Torain has back-to-back 100-yard rushing games in Portis' absence and three rushing TDs this season. He has played well and the Redskins have a 2-1 record since Portis got hurt. With Portis healthy, the Redskins would have a dynamic backfield to help QB Donovan McNabb.
Fantasy spin
Torain's fantasy owners can be confident that he will be handling the carries for another few weeks, at least.
