Lions MLB DeAndre Levy returned to the individual portion of practice on Tuesday for the first time since spraining his ankle in Week Three.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press reports that Levy, who missed the first two games of the season with a groin injury and had a sore back during training camp, appears on track to play Sunday against the Redskins.

Rookie RB Jahvid Best ran sprints with trainers at the workout. He suffered a sprained right big toe against the Vikings.

The only players head coach Jim Schwartz has ruled out for Sunday is QB Shaun Hill (forearm) and LB Zack Follett (neck).

The way we see it

Levy started 10 games in 2009, recording 85 tackles and five passes defensed for the Lions. His return will bring a big boost to the Lions' defense that has been weak at linebacker this season in what could be a winnable game against the Redskins.
