The Dolphins re-signed CB Evan Oglesby and waived DE Robert Rose on Wednesday.
Oglesby has played in 37 career games with the Dolphins, Ravens and Cowboys. He played in one game with the Dolphins in 2009 and was inactive for three games.
The Dolphins acquired Rose off waivers from the Seahawks on Sept. 5. Rose, an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State, did not record a tackle this season. He was brought in for depth along a defensive line.
The way we see it
Oglesby is known for his speed and special teams, so he will likely help a Dolphins special-teams unit that has been much maligned this season. Starters Yeremiah Bell and Vontae Davis have played on kick coverage, so Oglesby could allow them to focus on defense. Nickel corner Benny Sapp did not play well on Sunday against the Steelers, but Oglesby is likely just going to play on special teams. Rookie CB Nolan Carroll hurt his ankle against the Steelers.
