The 49ers announced Tuesday that they have promoted CB Tramaine Brock to the active roster from the team's practice squad. They waived S Chris Maragos.

Brock is an undrafted rookie from Belhaven and played one season at Minnesota. Maragos is also an undrafted rookie from Wisconsin and was on the 53-man roster for last Sunday's loss to the Panthers but was inactive.

The 1-6 Niners play the Broncos on Sunday in London.

The way we see it

We hear that CB Nate Clements is banged up with a bum ankle, which could explain why he got burned in the loss to Carolina. The secondary allowed the Panthers' rookie receivers to have a huge day in their first victory of the season, so this could be a move to give the unit a jolt.
