The Jets signed LB Josh Mauga from their practice squad and released DT Howard Green. LB Kenwin Cummings, who was released by the team last week, was re-signed to the practice squad.
Mauga, an undrafted second-year player, has been on and off the Jets' practice squad since Sept. 2009. This is his first time on the active roster.
Green, an eight-year veteran, only saw time in one game this season, the Jets' Week Three win vs. the Dolphins. He recorded one tackle and forced a fumble in the game.
The way we see it
The Jets were short on linebackers following Cummings' release, so they have decided to give Mauga a chance. It is unlikely he will be active on game days, but could see some time on special teams.
