The Jaguars placed ORT Eben Britton on season-ending injured reserve and signed OT Erik Pears on Tuesday.
Britton will have season-ending shoulder surgery after dislocating it in the Jags' loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. The second-year player started 15 games last season and each game this season.
Pears is a fifth-year veteran with 30 career starts. He spent three seasons with the Broncos and played in 12 games with four starts in 2009 with the Raiders.
The way we see it
Seventh-year veteran Jordan Black replaced Britton on Sunday and will start in his place. The Jags are 10th in the league in rushing yards a game, but RB Maurice Jones-Drew has just one 100-yard game. Black has experience but Britton was the better option.
