The Cardinals promoted CB A.J. Jefferson to their active roster and released CB Brandon McDonald.

Jefferson, an undrafted rookie out of Fresno State, was released on Sept. 27 after having been inactive the first three games. He was re-signed to the practice squad the next day.

McDonald is a fourth-year player who played in two games this year after three seasons with the Browns. He had five picks in 2008.
