Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams sprained his foot during the second half of the Panthers' first win of the season — a 23-20 victory over the 49ers on Sunday.
Head coach John Fox said Monday that Williams is considered day to day.
Before the injury, Williams had 19 carries (a season-high) for 44 yards and four receptions for 19 yards. He has 361 rushing yards in six games this season after two consecutive rushing seasons of 1,000-plus yards.
RB Jonathan Stewart had 14 rushes for 29 yards. The Panthers play the Rams in Week Eight.
The way we see it
With some momentum off their first victory thanks to an extremely productive passing game, the Panthers could get back-to-back wins against St. Louis on Sunday. With the passing game finally finding success, Williams and Stewart could find some open space, but they will need Williams healthy to use the two-headed attack.
