Vikings-Packers prediction

There's no question that the Packers are vulnerable, coming off two overtime losses in a row. Injuries really have hurt them in several spots, which will make them shorthanded against the Vikings. However, they should be a far more relaxed team, as the Packers have moved on from the Brett Favre saga from last season. His returning should have no emotional weight like it did last season, when head coach Mike McCarthy had his club far too tightly wired in both games.

The Vikings are getting well and continue to work Randy Moss into the offense. Percy Harvin is heating up, and Adrian Peterson is the bedrock of the offense. But there are enough inconsistencies with Favre and the offensive line that could be exposed Sunday. Although the matchup arrows point more toward the Vikings in this game, the Packers will take advantage of the home field and squeeze one out as Aaron Rodgers takes aim against a weakened Vikings pass rush and a thinner secondary.

Prediction: Packers 27, Vikings 23
