There are several interesting story lines heading into this game, including QB Jay Cutler going up against his former head coach, Mike Shanahan, whom he was very close to. The Bears, who have fed off of the underdog role at times this season, are out of their comfort zone as the favorites.
In the end, it will be the protection Cutler gets that makes the difference, though.
The Bears' offensive line will put forth one of its better performances of the season, as the same five linemen start for the second consecutive week. With improved, albeit not great, protection from his blockers, Cutler will have time to look downfield and should have some success against Washington's 31st-ranked pass defense.
The Redskins will also move the ball at a steady clip through the air, but RB Ryan Torain will fail to break off a big run and QB Donovan McNabb will be forced into frequent third-and-long situations.
Prediction: Bears 27, Redskins 21
