Bears LB Lance Briggs has left Sunday's game and will not return because of an ankle injury. Briggs left the game after alternating the first two series with backup LB Brian Iwuh.

Briggs sat out last the Bears' Week Six loss to the Seahawks but practiced twice this week. He originally suffered the injury against the Panthers in Week Five.

The way we see it

It's unclear if Briggs reinjured the ankle or if he simply could not play with the pain. The Bears held the Redskins to 10 first-half points. Iwuh, who started for Briggs against the Seahawks, will replace him for the rest of the game.
