New Orleans has activated FS Darren Sharper from its physically-unable-to-perform list, and he could play in Sunday's game vs. the Browns.
Sharper, who had a league-high nine interceptions and three defensive touchdowns in 2009 for New Orleans, missed the first part of the season after undergoing arthroscopic microfracture surgery on his left knee in the offseason. His spot in the lineup has been filled by converted CB Malcolm Jenkins, who is tied for third on the team with 28 tackles on the season.
The way we see it
Sharper's return will help New Orleans' defense, though it is unknown how much he will play. The veteran safety turns 35 on Nov. 3 and may not regain his spot in the starting lineup considering the way Jenkins has played.
