The Patriots signed safety Sergio Brown to the 53-man roster from the practice squad today and released RB Thomas Clayton.

Brown was with New England throughout training camp before being placed on the practice squad on Sept. 6. He provides depth in the secondary, which has been decimated by injuries. FS Jarrad Page is out for Week Seven with a calf injury, and CB Kyle Arrington and SS James Sanders both are questionable.

Clayton was signed to the Patriots' roster from the Browns' practice squad on Sept. 30 and was inactive
for both of his two games on New England's 53-man roster.

The way we see it

Secondary depth has become a bigger need than running back for the Patriots, which prompted the roster moves. Brown could see some action vs. the Chargers on Sunday.
