The Dolphins added some defensive line depth on Saturday, signing Clifton Geathers from their practice squad.

Drafted by the Browns in the sixth round of the 2010 draft, Geathers was released by Cleveland at the end of training camp. Geathers (the brother of Bengals DE Robert Geathers) has been on Miami's practice squad for the past seven weeks.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, Nolan Nawrocki called Geathers "a big, raw base end who is still figuring it out and will take some time to adapt to the speed and complexity of the NFL game."

The way we see it

Following the season-ending fibula injury to rookie Jared Odrick, the Dolphins needed to acquire another defensive lineman. It is unknown whether Geathers will be active for Miami's Week Seven game vs. the Steelers.
