The Ravens will reportedly place OT Jared Gaither (back) on season-ending injured reserve. He has missed all of the preseason and regular season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora are reporting the move. The roster spot opening will likely go to FS Ed Reed.

Reed would be activated off the physically-unable-to-perform list to fill the spot. The Baltimore Sun is reporting the Ravens won't announce any move until Saturday.

The way we see it

Gaither, a fourth-year veteran out of Maryland, started all 11 games he played in 2009. Marshall Yanda, who started nine games in 2009, started at ORT against the Ravens in Week Six with Chris Chester playing ORG. Reed had offseason hip surgery and the Ravens will be happy to have their top playmaker in the secondary back and healthy.
