Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Sunday's Week Seven game between the Redskins and Bears.
Bears DE Julius Peppers vs. Redskins OTs Trent Williams and Jammal Brown
Peppers had one of his quietest games as a Bear against Seahawks rookie OLT Russell Okung last week. He was held to two tackles and still is stuck on two sacks after not making one in either of the past two games.
He'll get a chance to bounce back against another rookie this week in Redskins OLT Trent Williams, who has held up surprisingly well while protecting Donovan McNabb against elite pass-rushing talent like Dwight Freeney, Clay Matthews, DeMarcus Ware and Mario Williams.
Trent Williams, the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, has shown great athleticism, which will help him against the speedy, long-armed Peppers.
The Bears give Peppers the freedom to move from side to side, so he could opt to rush against ORT Jammal Brown, who has a tendency to set high in pass protection. Peppers usually will do a good job of keeping his pad level low, and McNabb will be in danger if Peppers consistently gains leverage over Brown.
McNabb has been sacked eight times in the past two games, so Peppers and his teammates on the defensive line, who will need to step up when Peppers gets double-teamed, could have multiple opportunities to hit the Redskins' veteran quarterback.
