As outstanding as he has been in the first six games, the Colts probably can get by without WR Austin Collie, what with all of the other proven weapons at receiver. The loss of All-Pro TE Dallas Clark for the season with a wrist injury that requires surgery is more daunting. Clark's 37 catches ranked third on the Colts and led all NFL tight ends through six weeks. They also equal the combined career receptions of Jacob Tamme, Gijon Robinson and rookie Brody Eldridge. We're hearing the Colts are likely to use a TE-by-committee approach the rest of this season. Tamme most closely resembles Clark, with his size and quickness, and ability to play H-back, receiver and tight end. The 6-3, 236-pound third-year player flashed in the preseason, but hasn't had many chances — until now. Eldridge has upside as a receiver but has been used primarily in blocking situations. Robinson can block and catch but he doesn't excel at either and has been too inconsistent.
