Jaguars QB David Garrard missed practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday after sustaining a concussion in Monday night's loss to the Titans. Backup QBs Trent Edwards or Todd Bouman are likely to start on Sunday against the Chiefs.

Garrard has yet to return to the Jaguars' facility since the injury. Head coach Jack Del Rio said Garrard will be evaluated again and he is prepared to play Edwards or Bouman.

Bouman was re-signed earlier this week. He has not started a game since 2005. Edwards, who was claimed after being waived by the Bills, sprained his right thumb after replacing Garrard on Monday night.

The Jaguars signed QB Patrick Ramsey this week as well.

The way we see it

The coaches are reportedly confident with Bouman, who ahs been with the team in camp each of the past two seasons and in 2007, so he has familiarity with the offense. Ramsey has more talent but does not know the system as well. With Edwards questionable and Garrard out again, it's very likely that Bouman or Ramsey will get the call against the Chiefs.

Fantasy Spin

This will mean an increased workload for RB Maurice Jones-Drew, but the Chiefs know that too. It's unlikely either Bouman or Ramsey will be able to get going through the air, which also means low fantasy numbers for their receivers and TE Marcedes Lewis.
