NFL officials investigating allegations that Brett Favre sent racy text messages to a former Jets employee have a new party to speak with in the case.

Jenn Sterger, the alleged recipient of the messages and voice mails that have been said to be sent to her by Favre in 2008, has hired legal counsel to guide her on the matter. Sterger has yet to speak with the league, but she has hired New York-based law firm LaRusso and Conway.

Phil Reese, Sterger's manager, has confirmed that LaRusso and Conway have been retained by Sterger.

Favre, whose Vikings are preparing for a rivalry game Sunday night against the Packers, met with NFL vice president of security Milt Ahlerich on Tuesday to discuss the case.

Joseph Conway, who represents Sterger, has spoken to the NFL, according to various reports. But it not yet clear if Sterger has agreed to speak with the league herself.
