Falcons TE Justin Peelle will miss 4-6 weeks after having surgery on Tuesday for a sports hernia.

Peelle has three catches for 26 yards this season as the No. 2 tight end. Rookie TE Michael Palmer will fill in as starting TE Tony Gonzalez's backup.

The way we see it

With Gonzalez serving as the primary pass-catching tight end, Palmer likely will be looked to for blocking purposes in two-TE sets.
