The Chiefs have signed DT Atiyyah Ellison to fill the roster sport left open when Kansas City traded DE Alex Magee to the Buccaneers for a 2011 draft pick.
Ellison was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft after a productive collegiate career at Missouri.
He spent time with the 49ers and Ravens before signing with the Jaguars in 2008. A year later, Ellison recorded 28 tackles and a sack for Jacksonville in 15 games, including six starts.
The way we see it
The 6-5, 315 pound Ellison will provide depth on the defensive line and a working knowledge of the Jaguars' defense. The Chiefs square off against Jacksonville on Sunday.
