Falcons CB Dunta Robinson has a concussion following his helmet-to-helmet hit on Eagles WR DeSean Jackson on Sunday. The collision knocked both players out of the game.

Robinson was flagged on the play. Falcons head coach Mike Smith defended Robinson's hit, saying, "He's a guy who plays the game very hard. That was a bang-bang play in terms of the contact."

Robinson's status for this week is unknown. The Falcons play the Bengals on Sunday before their bye week.

Jackson suffered a severe concussion from the hit.

Smith also said that rookie LB Sean Weatherspoon will miss a second consecutive game with a sprained right knee.

The way we see it

Robinson is a seventh-year veteran and Weatherspoon had been productive from the linebacker spot before his injury. The Falcons gave up a lot of points and passing yards to the Eagles and face the Bengals' passing attack on Sunday. Robinson's hit was one of many helmet-to-helmet hits on Sunday that has had people around the league talking about further punishment to avoid head injuries from violent hits.
