The Texans scored a big comeback victory over the Chiefs in Week Six, but lost MLB DeMeco Ryans for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

The two-time Pro Bowler suffered the injury just before halftime. Head coach Gary Kubiak announced the bad news following the game and said Ryans will have surgery in the next couple of days.

The way we see it

This is a major blow to the defense. Ryans had double-digit tackles in four of his first five games and has never missed a game for Houston. Zac Diles could be Ryans' replacement for the rest of this season. Veteran Kevin Bentley can also play in the middle but has missed time recently with a knee injury. He was inactive in Week Six.
