After being suspended for the first four games of the season, it didn't take Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger long to make a fantasy impact once again.
Big Ben had a stellar 2010 debut Sunday, throwing for 257 yards with three TDs and one interception in a win over the Browns. Developing into a dependable fantasy passer last year with a career-high 4,328 yards, it appears the Pittsburgh QB once again will be a force to be reckoned with.
Considering the Steelers ranked last in passing entering Week Six, all of their pass catchers will benefit from Roethlisberger being back in the lineup. WR Mike Wallace, who had 3-90-1 Sunday, becomes a much better option now that he can use his deep speed again, and Hines Ward also has solid value again after struggling early on; he had 5-54-1 vs. the Browns. TE Heath Miller, a Roethlisberger favorite, especially gets a boost with his QB being back, as he had been invisible in the early going. He had 2-50-1 on Sunday.
Despite the thinking of some, the Steelers did not move away from the run just because Big Ben was back. RB Rashard Mendenhall had just as many rushes Sunday (27) as Roethlisberger had throws, and he churned out a healthy 84 yards and a score. There's no reason to worry about his play falling off.
If you've been sitting on Big Ben to this point, it might be a good time to trade away your starter and go with the Pittsburgh QB the rest of the way. He was a reliable No. 1 QB in '09, and there no reason to think he won't put up similar numbers for the rest of this season.
