As shown on "Hard Knocks," Jets coaches allowed their players to do a lot of goofing off in the preseason. One thing they didn't allow, however, was turning the ball over. Any interception by a quarterback or fumble by a skill-position player was met with a benching, making the statement that a problem from a year ago, when the offense had 30 turnovers, was not going to be tolerated. The message appears to have gotten through. In the team's first five games, the team has only one turnover, a Shonn Greene fumble in the second quarter of the Week One loss to the Ravens. QB Mark Sanchez, who accounted for 23 of the turnovers in '09 with picks and fumbles, hasn't given up the ball to an opponent yet, proof that he's much more comfortable in his second season than he was as a rookie. "Cutting down turnovers was a big offseason focus for Sanchez," a team insider told PFW. "He's also been really lucky with dropped interceptions."
