Ravens ORT Jared Gaither hasn't played all season because of a back injury, and the clock is ticking on whether he'll suit up for Baltimore this year. Head coach John Harbaugh told Baltimore reporters on Oct. 10 that while he held out hope Gaither could return in a "few weeks," he indicated a recovery timetable lasting longer than that would force the club to decide whether to place him on injured reserve. The Ravens will soon need two roster spots to bring back FS Ed Reed and LB Brendon Ayanbadejo off the PUP list; each is eligible to return in Week Seven. In Gaither's absence, ORG Marshal Yanda has slid to right tackle, and the team is happy with his play and the line's collective play, a daily team observer said. Gaither, 24, does not lack for potential and can play both tackle spots, but he has missed at least five games in each of the past two seasons with injuries, and he's on a one-year contract as a restricted free agent.
