In his weekly Packers fantasy assessment, PFW executive editor and resident Packers expert Dan Arkush ponders the fantasy possibilities this Sunday of WR Greg Jennings and TE Andrew Quarless.
Two Packers are worthy of special fantasy focus this week — WR Greg Jennings and rookie TE Andrew Quarless.
Don't give up Jennings just yet as a fantasy force, even though he had only two catches for the third consecutive week in the Week Five loss to the Redskins. With Jennings apparently venting his frustrations in the middle of this week, a concerted effort to get him the ball more could be in the works this Sunday against Miami, especially with TE Jermichael Finley out of the mix for the foreseeable future. With Finley out of the lineup, it's quite possible the Packers will return to the quick passing game that worked so well in 2007 and '08 before Finley's emergence — a style that suited Jennings quite well more often than not.
Quarless might be worth a fantasy flier, as it appears he could get some decent opportunities to be a factor in the Packers' offense in place of Finley, if last week was any indicastion. Quarless had four catches for 51 yards after Finley was hurt last Sunday, including a key 21-yard catch to the Redskins' 35-yard line that went for naught when Mason Crosby's potential game-winning field goal of 53 yards hit the crossbar. He was also the intended target on a key 4th-and-1 pass on Washington's one-yard line that was incomplete.
