Because they have a good situation right now, the Eagles could afford to admit they made a bad call in having signed RB Mike Bell, whom they traded to Cleveland this week. LeSean McCoy has shown his great toughness while playing through a rib injury, and backups Eldra Buckley and Joique Bell can fill in until Jerome Harrison, whom they acquired from the Browns, can get up to speed. Although he comes from a system with few similarities, Harrison appears a better fit in this offense than Bell did, by a mile. The Eagles ask their backs to be versatile and quick, and Bell was purely a between-the-numbers runner. Harrison has some wiggle, but he's well-built enough to handle some inside carries. In the meantime, Harrison can contribute on special teams. He could end up being a fairly effective third-down back, too.
