Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Sunday's Week Six battle between the Seahawks and Bears.
Bears QB Jay Cutler vs. Seahawks FS Earl Thomas
A veteran quarterback known to make an ill-advised throw on occasion and a rookie free safety who has shown a penchant for takeaways in the first few games of his career will meet Sunday when the Bears host the Seahawks.
First-round pick Earl Thomas has made his share of mistakes this season, but he also has displayed good ball skills. Thomas intercepted Chargers QB Philip Rivers twice in Week Three. He had another pick in Week Four.
Jay Cutler, who is expected to start after missing the last game and a half because of a concussion, has thrown an interception in three of four games. He did say this week that he wouldn't play more conservatively because of the injury. That aggressive style has led to a lot of big plays, but it also has killed drives with costly turnovers.
If offensive coordinator Mike Martz can come up with some play designs to throw the rookie off on deep passes, the Bears could easily dispose of Seattle. However, a couple errant tosses from Cutler, who could need to shake off some rust, will shift momentum the other way.
