Brett Favre participated in Vikings practice on Thursday, a day after sitting out to rest his ailing right elbow.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that Favre took part in individual drills and threw four or five passes while wearing a protective sleeve on the elbow.

Favre's streak of 289 consecutive regular-season games is in jeopardy, as the QB has talked about sitting out if he feels he's not healthy enough to help the team. In Week Five vs. the Jets, Favre threw two fourth-quarter TD passes to bring the Vikings within two points of tying the game, but then he threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown with 1:30 left. He was clutching his arm after many of the throws and said afterward that his elbow was in a great deal of pain.

The way we see it

History says that if Favre is on the roster, he's going to start at QB for his team. He hasn't missed a game since 1992, and with the 1-3 Vikings in must-win mode already and facing an equally hungry Dallas team, it's unlikely his competitive spirit would be pushed aside by the pain in his elbow.

Fantasy Spin

Favre hasn't posted great numbers this season, but he was effective vs. the Jets (264 yards, three TD passes, one INT). Vikings WR Randy Moss will be making his return to the Metrodome in purple and gold, and he has had outstanding games vs. the Cowboys in the past, averaging 101 yards a game and catching 10 TDs in his six career meetings, which is good news for Favre owners.
