Bears WLB Lance Briggs missed practice for the second day in a row Thursday and his chances of playing against Seattle appear to be dwindling.
Briggs injured his left ankle vs. the Panthers in Week Five and had to leave the game.
Brian Iwuh is expected to start on the weak side if Briggs is inactive on Sunday. Iwuh, a fifth-year veteran, is in his first season with the Bears. He has three career starts and his contributions have come mostly on special teams.
Briggs has only missed three games since he entered the league in 2003.
The way we see it
Briggs, a five-time Pro Bowler, will be hard to replace, and Iwuh and the Bears understand that. MLB Brian Urlacher always can count on Briggs to be in the right spot, but he may have to keep an eye on Iwuh.
