The Buccaneers have waived P Chris Bryan and signed Robert Malone to replace him.

Bryan ranked last in the league with a 37.4 gross punting average on 23 tries and his 34.3 net average was tied for 27th among NFL punters.

Malone entered the league as an undrafted free agent earlier this year and was with the Jaguars in the offseason before being cut in July. He was an All-WAC first-team selection at Fresno State last season.

The way we see it

This is no surprise. The Bucs were looking to upgrade after Bryan recorded a 29.3 net average on six punts in last week's 24-21 win over the Bengals.
