Here's our weekly look at the contributions made by Browns rookies this season:

CB Joe Haden (first round): Haden continues to see regular playing time as a reserve. He notched two tackles vs. Atlanta in Week Five. Overall, Haden has recorded 16 tackles (14 solo) with three passes defended on defense. He's also made five tackles on special teams.

S T.J. Ward (second round): Ward made his fifth consecutive start Sunday vs. Atlanta and notched seven tackles on defense. He's recorded 43 tackles on defense, 16 more than any other Cleveland player, with 34 solo tackles. Ward's biggest contribution in Week Five, however, came on special teams, as he blocked Falcons PK Matt Bryant's 30-yard attempt late in the second quarter. Ward, like Haden, has five special-teams tackles, too.

QB Colt McCoy (third round): McCoy's first NFL start could come Sunday at Pittsburgh with Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace battling ankle injuries. McCoy last played in the preseason, when he started slowly (5-of-12 passing 25 yards, two interceptions in two games) before playing much better in Cleveland's final two games (23-of-27 passing, 207 yards). However, McCoy's inexperience, should he be forced into action this week, looms as a major concern.

OG Shawn Lauvao (third round): Hampered by an ankle injury, Lauvao has been inactive for all five games. Lauvao was limited in practice in Wednesday and Thursday of last week before practicing fully Friday, so perhaps that is a good sign. Expected to challenge to start at right guard, Lauvao is behind veteran Floyd Womack on the depth chart.

SS Larry Asante (fifth round): He was waived on Sept. 4 and signed to the Browns' practice squad the next day.

WR Carlton Mitchell (sixth round): He has been inactive for the first five games and missed Week Four with a head injury. He's third on the depth chart behind Brian Robiskie and Joshua Cribbs.

DL Travis Ivey (undrafted free agent): Waived from the roster on Sept. 4 and re-signed to the practice squad Sept. 5.

DL Brian Sanford (undrafted free agent): Like Ivey, he was re-signed to the practice squad Sept. 5 after being waived the previous day.

Notes: RB Montario Hardesty (second round, No. 59) is on injured reserve after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Browns' final preseason game. ... DE Clifton Geathers (sixth round, No. 186) was waived by the Browns on Sept. 4. The Dolphins claimed him on Sept. 5, waived him from their roster on Sept. 14, re-signed him to the practice squad Sept. 15 and waived him from the practice squad Sept. 18. ... WR Johnathan Haggerty (undrafted free agent) was waived/injured on Aug. 16 with a foot injury and is currently on Cleveland's injured reserve list.
