Vikings QB Brett Favre apologized to teammates for being a distraction during a meeting on Monday morning, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Favre said he is prepared to play "lights out" in their Monday-night game against his former team, the Jets.

The NFL is investigating allegations that Favre sent inappropriate messages and photos to a former Jets employee, Jenn Sterger. The Web site Deadspin.com released voice messages and photos that Favre allegedly sent Sterger in 2008.

Favre's actions could fall under the NFL's personal-conduct policy. Favre said he would have "no problem" talking to commissioner Roger Goodell if asked to do so.

The way we see it

With Randy Moss' return to the Vikings and the Jets getting Santonio Holmes, Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace back, it's a shame (but not a surprise) that the Favre story is stealing the headlines. He will be motivated Monday night and wants his teammates' trust as the distraction continues.
