Rams WR Mark Clayton suffered an injury to his right knee and will not return to Sunday's game against the Lions.
Clayton was injured in the first quarter. He had one catch for six yards. Clayton entered the game leading the Rams in receiving with 22-300-2 on the season.
The way we see it
After losing top WR Donnie Avery for the year in the preseason, Clayton emerged as rookie QB Sam Bradford's main target. With him out, the Rams lose their best receiver and main deep threat. Slot receiver Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson will see targets increase as this game goes on. The Rams' offense can ill-afford to lose Clayton for an extended period of time.
For Clayton owners, this could be a big loss. If Amendola is on waivers in your league, you may want to consider grabbing him as he is the Rams' leading receiver Sunday since Clayton's exit.
