Take a quick stroll down memory lane with PFW for a recap of the Patriots' Week Five contests each of the last five seasons:
2009: The Patriots were held scoreless in the second half of a 20-17 loss to the Broncos, who remained undefeated with their fifth win of the year. QB Tom Brady connected with WR Wes Welker and TE Ben Watson for touchdown passes early on, but the fun stopped after the break. While WR Randy Moss was held without a touchdown in the game, he did pick off Broncos QB Kyle Orton just before halftime.
2008: Moss had five catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 30-21 win over the 49ers. Matt Cassel threw two interceptions but was solid otherwise with 259 passing yards while completing 69 percent of his passes. RB Sammy Morris led the team in rushing yards with 63, but it was RB Kevin Faulk who scored New England's two touchdowns on the ground. Welker had a game-high eight catches.
2007: Three Brady touchdown passes led the Patriots to a 34-17 win over the Browns. Brady's top target, Watson, had a pair of touchdowns to go along with his six catches for 107 yards. WR Donté Stallworth also caught a touchdown pass and finished with four receptions for 65 yards. Morris had a productive day on the ground, rushing for 102 yards.
2006: Two Asante Samuel interceptions helped the Patriots top the Dolphins 20-10. Brady spread out his 16 completions, with WR Troy Brown grabbing a team-high five catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Welker, who was playing for the Dolphins at the time, had a game-high nine catches for 77 yards.
2005: An Adam Vinatieri field goal with 17 seconds remaining sent the Patriots to a 31-28 victory over the Falcons. Brady had a big day, coming up empty just five times on his way to a 350-yard, three-touchdown day. TE Daniel Graham and WR Deion Branch each contributed 100-yard-plus receiving efforts.
