Football games are won in the trenches, which is a big reason why the Bills don't have any victories on the season. The team's offensive line has been a mess in 2010, especially in pass blocking, and there is little sign of improvement the rest of the way. Bills QBs have been hit 28 times (second-most in the league) and taken down for 11 sacks through Week Four, as ORT Cornell Green and OLT Demetrius Bell have struggled to seal the edge against top pass rushers. The switch to Ryan Fitzpatrick under center was a smart one, as Fitzpatrick is more mobile and gets rid of the ball faster than previous starter Trent Edwards did. Depth is a major issue as well for the front five, with little talent and experience on the team's bench. An improved run game would help the pass protection, stopping opposing defenders from pinning their ears back and heading straight for the QB, but that, too, will require better play from the line.
