Every week, Packers radio play-by-play man Wayne Larrivee, who also co-hosts the “Pro Football Weekly&
amp;rdquo; syndicated radio show with PFW editor-publisher Hub Arkush, answers three pertinent questions about the Packers.
PFW: How much will the Packers miss SS Morgan Burnett?
Larrivee: They will miss him quite a bit. He was a young player getting better each week. Fortunately, they have last year's starting safety, Atari Bigby, coming off the PUP list in two weeks and will hustle him back on the field. They also will scheme to fill that spot with a variety of players, and don't be surprised if you see Charles Woodson at that position in some of Dom Capers' schemes. Right now, Derrick Martin should get more time at that position, but we could see a variety of schemes and players compensating for the loss until Bigby is ready to play.
PFW: The same question applies to LB Brandon Chillar, if his shoulder injury puts him on the shelf or keeps him from playing at less than full strength.
Larrivee: This would be a huge loss in terms of scheme flexibility for Dom Capers. Chillar is one of the most versatile players on the team, and he has played safety in some of their defensive packages in the past like the "Big Okie." If he can't go, it takes away some of what Capers can do defensively to compensate.
PFW: Did the Packers play down to their competition last Sunday, or are the Lions a vastly improved team?
Larrivee: A little of both. The Packers didn't have a whole lot left after that physical, emotional Monday-night game with the Bears (neither did the Bears), but Detroit is also a vastly improved team. The Lions are much better defensively on the line, they are improved at the offensive skill positions and QB Shaun Hill played like Joe Montana.
