The Texans have signed former Bears DE Mark Anderson. The Bears cut Anderson on Tuesday and replaced him with veteran DE Charles Grant.

Anderson, a fifth-year veteran, started the season opener but lost his starting spot to Israel Idonije for the next three games.

In his rookie season, Anderson had 12 sacks but just 9½ combined in the past three seasons.

The way we see it

The Texans are likely hoping that Anderson can return to his rookie form after being ineffective for the Bears this season. They are looking for consistency opposite DE Mario Williams and signed veterans Adewale Ogunleye and Ryan Denney two weeks ago when DE Connor Barwin landed on injured reserve.
