While nothing is close to imminent, the Patriots and Seahawks are reportedly talking about a potential trade involving Seahawks WR Deion Branch.
Branch, who spent his first four seasons with the Patriots and was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX, has failed to reach the kind of numbers he put up with the Patriots while in Seattle. His best season came in 2005 when he had 78-998-5 receiving with the Pats.
Through four games in 2010, Branch has caught 13-112-1 with head coach Pete Carroll's Seahawks. The Patriots traded top WR Randy Moss to the Vikings on Wednesday.
The way we see it
The Patriots could use another veteran wideout to play with Wes Welker and help tutor the young WRs looking to fill in for Moss. Branch has said he would love to return to New England and, with RB Kevin Faulk out for the season, could provide some experience and leadership on offense. The Seahawks are no strangers to making moves this season, most recently acquiring RB Marshawn Lynch.
