The Patriots have re-signed OL Quinn Ojinnaka and signed QB Brett Ratliff to their practice squad.
Ojinnaka was acquired in a trade with the Falcons on Aug. 23. He was suspended for the season opener and inactive in Week Three before being released on Sept. 30. A fourth-year veteran, he has 12 starts in 39 career games.
Ratliff spent most of 2009 as the Browns' third QB before being waived on Sept. 4. He was then signed to the Jaguars' practice squad before being released on Sept. 27.
The way we see it
The Patriots' offensive line had been phenomenal this season through three games, allowing just two sacks, despite the absence of Pro Bowl OLG Logan Mankins. They were a little shaky against the Dolphins on Monday night, giving up three sacks. Ojinnaka provides experience and versatility to the O-line, although the front five hasn't needed much help this season.
Bill Belichick rarely has three QBs on his roster, so Ratliff likely will remain as the practice-squad QB this season with Brian Hoyer as Tom Brady's backup.
