Broncos RBs ran 17 times for a total of eight yards in Week Four, an embarrassing showing in a game that Kyle Orton essentially won on his own for Denver. The team hoped its backfield situation would improve this Sunday vs. the Ravens, but that appears unlikely.
Knowshon Moreno, who had hoped to return from a hamstring injury for the Baltimore game, had a setback on Thursday and was held out of the team's afternoon practice, according to MaxDenver.com. Head coach Josh McDaniels said the team would not play Moreno until he is 100 percent ready to go.
"I think we're just trying to make sure we make a smart decision on when he's ready and when he's not," McDaniels said. "Unfortunately, we can't have him out there every day until he's totally healthy."
The way we see it
Moreno did not run well in his two games this season, averaging only 2.8 yards per carry. However, those numbers are far better than what his backups have recorded in his absence, a reason the Broncos are eagerly hoping for his return.
